...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN SUTTON COUNTY THROUGH

945 PM CDT...



At 910 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over

The Intersection Of Us-

277 And Ranch Road 189, or 14 miles south of Sonora, moving east at

50 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

The Intersection Of Us-277 And Ranch Road 189 and Us-

277 Near The Sutton-Edwards County Line.



This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 413 and 421.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

stations and available television stations for additional information

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for

west central Texas.
