...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN MCCULLOCH...MASON

AND SAN SABA COUNTIES THROUGH 830 PM CDT...



At 805 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over

Field Creek, moving east at 45 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

San Saba, Mason, Algerita, Cherokee, Castell, Art, Pontotoc, Loyal

Valley, Fredonia, Chappel, Sloan, Streeter, Hedwigs Hill, Hilda,

Grit, Colorado Bend State Park, Us-190 Near The San Saba-

Lampasas County Line, Harkeyville, Us-87 Near The Mason-

Gillespie County Line, and Koockville.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

stations and available television stations for additional information

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for 

west central Texas.
