...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL HAWKINS AND NORTHEASTERN

GREENE COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM EDT...



At 402 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong

thunderstorms 8 miles south of Surgoinsville, or 9 miles southeast of

Rogersville, moving northwest at 10 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Rogersville, Surgoinsville, Church Hill, Baileyton, Okolona, Kepler,

McCloud, Romeo, and Jearoldstown.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



This storm may intensify, so closely monitor for additional

information or possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
