...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL PECOS...CENTRAL

BREWSTER AND SOUTHWESTERN TERRELL COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM CDT...



At 625 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along

a line extending from 29 miles northwest of Sanderson to 20 miles

southeast of Marathon to 10 miles north of Panther Junction. Movement

was east at 25 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Sanderson, Persimmon Gap, and Big Bend National Park.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead

to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for

southwestern Texas.
