DAVIS AND SOUTHEASTERN CALCASIEU PARISHES THROUGH 815 AM CDT...



At 733 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along

a line extending from near Lake Charles to near Hayes to near Grand

Chenier. Movement was northeast at 35 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

Jennings, Welsh, Iowa, Lake Arthur, Fenton, Hayes, Klondike, Lebleu

Settlement, Thornwell, Lowry, Bell City, Roanoke, and Lacassine.



This includes Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 37 and

62.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 AM CDT for

southwestern Louisiana.
