...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN THOMAS COUNTY

THROUGH 745 PM CDT...



At 713 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong

thunderstorms 9 miles south of Gem, or 10 miles southeast of Colby,

moving east at 5 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 

         possible.



This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Thomas

County, including the following locations... Mingo and Halford.



This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 55 and 69.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for

northwestern Kansas.
