...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of central Miami-Dade

County through 230 PM EDT...



At 146 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking

a strong thunderstorm over Homestead General Airport, moving

southwest at 5 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

Homestead, Homestead General Airport, The Redland, Florida City,

Royal Palm Ranger, Leisure City, and Everglades National Park.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around

unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the

storm passes.



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
