...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN YORK...EAST CENTRAL

SPARTANBURG...CENTRAL CHEROKEE AND NORTHERN UNION COUNTIES THROUGH

1145 AM EDT...



At 1059 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4

miles southeast of Spartanburg, or near Cedar Springs, moving east at

40 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

East Spartanburg, Pacolet, Pauline, Croft State Park, Roebuck, Kings 

Mountain State Park, Pacolet Mills, Bullock Creek, Sharon, and 

Cherokee Falls.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

stations and available television stations for additional information

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
