...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN FRANKLIN...ELBERT...

HART...ANDERSON AND WESTERN ABBEVILLE COUNTIES THROUGH 945 AM EDT...



At 840 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along

a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Carnesville to 6 miles

southwest of Monticello Georgia. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects.



Locations impacted include...

Bowman, Anderson, Starr, Russell State Park, Powdersville, 

Ruckersville, Lowndesville, Northlake, Honea Path, and Victoria 

Bryant State Park.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead

to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.



These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

stations and available television stations for additional information

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.



Conditions are favorable for development of a very brief, weak

tornado. Be prepared to take immediate action if a tornado is sighted

or a Tornado Warning is issued.
