...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Oconee,

eastern Morgan, northeastern Putnam, northwestern Hancock, Greene,

western Taliaferro and southwestern Oglethorpe Counties through 615

PM EDT...



At 536 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line

extending from Apalachee to Eatonton, and moving northeast at 35 mph.



HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, frequent cloud to ground lightning and 

         heavy rain.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of 

         light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary 

         street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.



Locations impacted include...

Veazey, Greensboro, Wrayswood, Hutchings, Greshamville, Liberty,

Lexington, Maxeys, Parks Mill, Swords, Penfield, Phoenix, Reynolds at

Lake Oconee, Carters Grove, Apalachee, Robinson, Harmony, Stephens,

Woodville, and Union Point.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear

thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists

should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to

hydroplaning.



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for central and

north central Georgia.
