...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Morgan, western

Putnam, Jasper and east central Newton Counties through 545 PM EDT...



At 502 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line

extending from Starrsville to Calvin to near McElheneys Crossroads,

and moving east at 35 mph.



HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, frequent cloud to ground lightning and 

         heavy rain.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of 

         light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary 

         street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Mansfield, Madison, Harmony, Godfrey, Monticello, Warfield, Shady

Dale, Willard, Rock Eagle 4-H Center, Buckhead, Central Georgia

Experiment Stn, Eatonton, Newborn, Calvin, Farrar, Rutledge, Swords,

Stanfordville, Adgateville, and Apalachee.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear

thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists

should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to

hydroplaning.



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for central and

north central Georgia.
