The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek VA...

  Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to New Point Comfort VA...



* Until 800 AM EDT.



* At 715 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Gwynns

  Island to near Wolf Trap to near The Hump, moving northeast at 10

  knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Buoy 36a, Wolf Trap, Bluefish Rock, The Hump, The Cell, Latimer

  Shoal, Plantation Light, Cabbage Patch, Gwynns Island, and Gwynns

  Island Reef.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
