The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek VA...

  Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to New Point Comfort VA...



* Until 715 AM EDT.



* At 645 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from near New Point

  Comfort to near York Spit Reef to near Bluefish Rock, moving

  northeast at 15 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  New Point Comfort, York Spit Reef, Gwynns Island, Wolf Trap,

  Bluefish Rock, and The Hump.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
