...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY

EVENING...



* WHAT...High risk of rip currents expected and minor coastal flooding 

  possible.



* WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda 

  Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the 

  Bolivar Peninsula.



* WHEN...Through Saturday evening.



* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from 

  shore into deeper water. Flooding of lots, parks, and roads possible.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Localized minor coastal flooding will be 

  possible during times of high tide and mainly near Galveston 

  Bay. Water levels are expected to be around 3.5 ft above 

  MLLW during high tide cycles through Saturday evening.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
