For the High Rip Current Risk, north and east facing reefs. * WHEN...Until 4 PM ChST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated long-period north to northeast swell, produced by distant mid-latitude frontal systems, will continue to produce hazardous surf along north facing reefs, and a high risk of rip currents along north and east facing reefs through at least Sunday afternoon. The long-period swells are gradually subsiding and surf is slowly decreasing, however, surf and rip risk will remain at elevated levels over the weekend, possibly hovering just below hazardous levels for north facing reefs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. && $$ Bowsher
