...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of northeast New Mexico, including the following 

  counties, northeastern Harding and west central Union.



* Until 900 PM MDT.



* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. 

  Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 553 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow

    moving thunderstorms between Gladstone, Yates and Bueyeros.

    This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 1

    and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are

    expected over the area. This additional rain will result in

    minor flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Bueyeros.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and 

dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings. Turn around 

don't drown!
