...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in 

Arkansas...



  Ouachita River At Arkadelphia affecting Hot Spring and Clark 

  Counties.



For the Ouachita River...including Arkadelphia...Major flooding is 

forecast.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.



River forecasts are based on current conditions and rainfall 

forecasted to occur over the next 24 hours. During periods of 

flooding...Evening forecasts are reissued with updated rainfall 

forecasts.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Ouachita River at Arkadelphia.



* WHEN...Until Tuesday afternoon.



* IMPACTS...At 28.5 feet, Evacuations may be needed. Widespread 

  flooding in Clark County. Numerous county roads flooded. State 

  Highway 7 flooded east of Arkadelphia. Long detours around flooded 

  areas. Ouachita River crested just over 28 feet in January 1969 

  and over 30 feet in May 1968.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 3:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 28.0 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.0

    feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late

    tomorrow morning.

  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
