...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in 

Missouri...



  Black River at Poplar Bluff affecting Butler County.



.Very heavy rainfall ranging from 6 to 8 inches across the Black 

River basin over the past week will keep river levels elevated this 

week. Levels have fallen into minor flood category at Poplar Bluff 

but are forecast to remain there until later Friday.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...



* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Black River at Poplar Bluff.



* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, U.S. Highway 60 begins to flood heading 

  toward Baskey.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 9:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 18.6 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

    late Friday evening and continue falling to 15.6 feet

    Saturday morning.

  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
