...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in 

Missouri...



  Black River at Poplar Bluff affecting Butler County.



.Heavy rainfall of 5 to 8 inches that occurred across the basin area 

has resulted in river levels rising to moderate levels on the Black 

River at Poplar Bluff.



For the Black River...including Poplar Bluff...Moderate flooding is 

forecast.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TUESDAY MORNING...



* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 

  forecast.



* WHERE...Black River at Poplar Bluff.



* WHEN...Until late Tuesday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, U.S. Highway 60 begins to flood heading 

  toward Baskey.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 7:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.9 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 7:15 PM CDT Sunday was 19.9 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.9

    feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below

    flood stage early Tuesday morning.

  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
