...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in 

Kentucky...



  Kentucky River at High Bridge Lock affecting Garrard, Mercer and 

  Jessamine Counties.



.Heavy rain from the past several days will cause the river to 

remain in flood.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.



Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths 

occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, 

dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, 

even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route 

over higher ground.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Kentucky River at High Bridge Lock.



* WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon.



* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Dix Drive begins to flood.

  At 30.0 feet, Large portion of Dix Drive floods.

  At 36.0 feet, Water enters homes along Dix Drive.

  At 39.0 feet, Dix Drive floods completely.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 7:15 AM EDT Monday the stage was 45.6 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 38.6 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 7:15 AM EDT Monday was 46.3 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

    Wednesday morning and continue falling to 13.9 feet Saturday

    morning.

  - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    43.7 feet on 05/03/2010.
