...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT SUNDAY...



* WHAT...Elevated river levels caused by excessive rainfall continue.



* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, 

  including the following counties, in south central Kentucky, 

  Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In 

  southeast Kentucky, Clay, Jackson, Knox, Lee and Owsley.



* WHEN...Until 200 AM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1058 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate showers

    moving in across the area. Up to a half inch of rain has

    fallen on nearly saturated grounds since 8 PM. Excessive

    runoff will cause minor flooding of small streams and creeks,

    roads, and roadside culverts.

  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected

    over the area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Somerset, London, Monticello, Williamsburg, Mount Vernon,

    McKee, Booneville, Whitley City, and Billows.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
