...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of Panhandle Florida, including the following 

  counties, Holmes, Jackson and Washington.



* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Water over roadways.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 553 AM CDT, the public reported heavy rain in the advisory

    area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or

    expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Vernon, Bonifay, Chipley, Wausau, Ebro, Brock Crossroad,

    Poplar Head, Sylvania, Johnson Crossroads, Smyrna, Spring

    Hollow, Holmes Valley, Sunny Hills, Chipley Municipal

    Airport, Bahoma, Millers Ferry, Richter Crossroads and Red

    Head.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
