  Hocking River at Athens affecting Athens County.



For the Hocking River...Minor flooding is forecast.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll 

free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TOMORROW EVENING...



* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Hocking River at Athens.



* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.



* IMPACTS...At 21.5 feet, Four homes along 1100 block of Harmony 

  Road flood at 21 to 22 feet. Athens Community Center parking lot 

  and tennis courts flood.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 4:15 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 20.7 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 4:15 AM EDT Sunday was 20.7 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.3

    feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage

    tomorrow afternoon.

  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    21.3 feet on 03/03/2017.
