...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM EDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...The following counties, in central Ohio, Fairfield, 

  Fayette, Hocking, Madison and Pickaway. In south central Ohio, 

  Highland, Pike and Ross. In southwest Ohio, Clinton. In west 

  central Ohio, Greene.



* WHEN...Until 1030 AM EDT Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become 

  impassable.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1218 AM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to prolonged

    steady rain. Minor flooding is ongoing at various locations

    in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have

    fallen since Wednesday evening. Additional rainfall amounts

    up to 0.5 inches are possible through this morning.

  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...

    Columbus, Lancaster, Reynoldsburg, Chillicothe, Pickerington,

    Washington Court House, Circleville, Wilmington, Logan,

    Hillsboro, Greenfield, Blanchester, Waverly, Canal

    Winchester, Nelsonville, Ashville, Baltimore, Buckeye Lake,

    Sabina and Piketon.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
