...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM MDT THIS 

AFTERNOON FOR NORTHWESTERN EL PASO COUNTY...



At 218 PM MDT, The heavy rain has ended in the immediate Monument 

and Palmer Lake regions. Radar estimated between 1.5 and 2.5 inches 

of rain has fallen in the region. Although the rain has ended, flash 

flooding may still be occurring in the Monument and Palmer Lake 

regions.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Monument and Palmer Lake.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
