...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR TERRELL COUNTY...



At 939 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the earlier intense 

thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall had moved to the east of 

Terrell county. However, additional light rain showers were 

continuing to develop. Although the heavier rainfall rates have 

ended, excessive runoff from the earlier thunderstorms may still 

result in areas of flash flooding over Terrell county through around 

1030 PM CDT this evening.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Dryden, Sanderson, Terrell County Gas Plant and Terrell County 

  Airport.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 

potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 

roads. Find an alternate route.
