...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR NORTH CENTRAL PECOS, SOUTHEASTERN CRANE AND SOUTHERN 

UPTON COUNTIES...



At 348 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 

producing heavy rain in McCamey and north of Rankin. The expected 

rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already 

occurring.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  McCamey, Upton County Airport, King Mountain and Girvin.



This includes the following streams and drainages...

  Pecos River, Comanche Creek, Tunas Creek, Rankin Draw, Landreth 

  Draw and Fivemile Creek.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
