...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT SUNDAY FOR 

HOPKINS, MCLEAN, MUHLENBERG AND CALDWELL COUNTIES...



At 1042 PM CDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain and severe 

flooding occurring in Dawson Springs. Between 6 and 11 inches of 

rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are 

possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.



SOURCE...Emergency management reported.



IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low-lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Madisonville, Princeton, Central City, Dawson Springs, Calhoun, 

  Earlington, Livermore, Nortonville, Mortons Gap, Powderly, Graham, 

  Weir, Greenville, Olney, Beech Grove, Cobb, Farmersville, 

  Creswell, Dunmor and White Plains.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
