...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT THIS 

EVENING FOR SOUTHERN DE KALB AND CENTRAL LEE COUNTIES...



At 713 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

slow-moving thunderstorms producing heavy rain with rates of 2-3 

inches per hour. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional 

showers and thunderstorms will move through the area over the next 

hour.



HAZARD...Flash flooding.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage

         ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and

         other poor drainage areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Sandwich, Amboy, Lake Holiday, Hinckley, Somonauk, Woodhaven 

  Lakes, Lee, Steward and Lee Center.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may 

already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and 

other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life 

and property.
