The Flash Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of north central, 

northeast, and northwest Georgia, including the following areas, in 

north central Georgia, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens and 

Union. In northeast Georgia, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, 

Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, 

Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield.



The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of north and northwest 

Georgia.



The threat of flash flooding has ended. Some area rivers continue to 

rise from the recent heavy rainfall. Please continue to heed any 

road closures and monitor the latest river flooding products.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be 

  possible.



* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, 

  northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia, including the 

  following areas, in central Georgia, Baldwin, Bibb, Butts, 

  Crawford, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs 

  and Wilkinson. In east central Georgia, Greene and Hancock. In 

  north central Georgia, Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, 

  Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Morgan, Newton, 

  North Fulton, Rockdale, South Fulton and Walton. In northeast 

  Georgia, Banks, Clarke, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe. 

  In northwest Georgia, Carroll. In west central Georgia, 

  Chattahoochee, Coweta, Harris, Heard, Lamar, Macon, Marion, 

  Meriwether, Muscogee, Pike, Schley, Spalding, Stewart, Sumter, 

  Talbot, Taylor, Troup, Upson and Webster.



* WHEN...Through this evening.



* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, 

  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. 

  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur 

  in poor drainage and urban areas.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - Heavy rain has already fallen across portions of north and

    central Georgia and is still ongoing with a line of storms

    over central Georgia. This system is expected exit slowly

    today, resulting in an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain over

    already saturated soils. Isolated higher amounts are

    possible. Flash flooding and new river flooding remain

    possible through the afternoon.
