The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  North Central La Salle County in north central Illinois...



* Until 1045 PM CDT.



* At 738 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

  thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall with rates exceeding 2 

  inches per hour moving into the area. This area has previously 

  received up to 3 inches of rainfall, and an additional 1 to 2 

  inches are possible. Worsening of flood severity is imminent.



  HAZARD...Significant flash flooding.



  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.



  IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams,

           drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage

           areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding.

           Possible flooding of structures. Possible flooding of

           highways.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Earlville and Leland.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may 

already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and 

other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life 

and property.
