The National Weather Service in Wakefield has extended the



* Flash Flood Warning for...

  Central Chesterfield County in central Virginia...

  The City of Richmond in central Virginia...



* Until 700 PM EDT.



* At 454 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported high water across

  portions of the City of Richmond. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain

  have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.



  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.



  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor

           drainage and low-lying areas.



* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Richmond, Chester, Bon Air, Downtown Richmond, Chesterfield Court

  House, Bensley, Chesterfield, Pocahontas State Park, Drewrys Bluff

  and Centralia.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
