...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM CDT THURSDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and major river 

  flooding is occurring.



* WHERE...A portion of East Arkansas, including the following 

  county, Clay.



* WHEN...Until 200 PM CDT Thursday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous 

  county roads across the county remain closed due to flooding.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 201 PM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding in the

    warned area. Flooding is already occurring.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is

    expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Piggott, Corning, Rector, Chalk Bluff Natural Area, Knobel,

    St. Francis, Pollard, Greenway, McDougal, Success, Peach

    Orchard, Datto, Saint Francis, Crockett, Nimmons, Hickoria,

    Tipperary, Knob, Pratt and Heubner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 

unstable and unsafe.
