...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and 

increased in duration for the following rivers in Arkansas...



  Ouachita River At Arkadelphia affecting Hot Spring and Clark 

  Counties.



For the Ouachita River...including Arkadelphia, Camden, Thatcher 

L&D...Major flooding is forecast.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.



River forecasts are based on current conditions and rainfall 

forecasted to occur over the next 24 hours. During periods of 

flooding...Evening forecasts are reissued with updated rainfall 

forecasts.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...



* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Ouachita River at Arkadelphia.



* WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Flooding in druid hills and portions of 

  Southern and Southeastern Arkadelphia. Airport possibly closed by 

  high water. State Highway 7 east of Arkadelphia flooded. Railroad 

  underpass flooded. Numerous Clark County roads flooded.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 27.4 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.6

    feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below

    flood stage Monday evening.

  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
