...The National Weather Service in Birmingham AL has issued a Flood 

Warning for the following rivers in Alabama...



  Alabama River At Montgomery affecting Montgomery, Dallas, Elmore, 

  Autauga and Lowndes Counties.



.Heavy rainfall has occurred since Sunday morning over the Alabama 

River basin and a flood warning is now in effect for the Alabama 

River.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT TO EARLY THURSDAY 

MORNING...



* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.



* WHERE...Alabama River at Montgomery.



* WHEN...From late Monday night to early Thursday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Some flooding of low lying areas and 

  secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the 

  golf course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road 

  occurs at stages around 30 feet and higher.

  At 35.0 feet, Extensive flooding of low lands in the area occurs. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 24.9 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage

    early Tuesday morning to a crest of 37.0 feet Tuesday

    evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday

    afternoon.

  - Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
