...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT MONDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following 

  counties, Caldwell, Hopkins, McLean and Muhlenberg.



* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Monday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 638 PM CDT, Even though the heavy rain has ended,

    substantial flooding continues across much of the warned area

    with many primary and secondary roads still impassable.

    Between 7 and 13 inches of rain have fallen since the event

    started on Wednesday. Only light drizzle is expected through

    this evening.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but very little additional

    rainfall is expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Madisonville, Princeton, Central City, Dawson Springs,

    Calhoun, Earlington, Livermore, Nortonville, Mortons Gap,

    Powderly, Graham, Weir, Greenville, Olney, Beech Grove, Cobb,

    Farmersville, Creswell, Dunmor and White Plains.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Do not drive around barriers and find alternate routes if flooding 

is observed.
