...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT /11 AM EDT/ MONDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following counties, 

  Edwards, Gallatin, Saline, Wabash and White and Indiana, including 

  the following counties, Gibson, Pike and Posey.



* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT /1100 AM EDT/ Monday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 619 PM CDT /719 PM EDT/, Even though the heavy rain has

    ended, substantial flooding continues across much of the

    warned area. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen

    since the start of the event on Wednesday. Only light drizzle

    is expected through this evening.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but very little additional

    rainfall is expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Evansville, Harrisburg, Princeton, Mount Carmel, Mount

    Vernon, Carmi, Eldorado, Fort Branch, Oakland City,

    Petersburg, Albion, Shawneetown, Grayville, Lancaster,

    Haubstadt, Owensville, Norris City, Poseyville, Galatia and

    West Salem.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Do not drive around barriers and find alternate routes if flooding 

is observed.
