...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM CDT TUESDAY...

...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois, 

  including the following counties, in north central Illinois, De 

  Kalb, La Salle and Lee. In northeast Illinois, Kane and Kendall.



* WHEN...Until 230 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding 

  may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may 

  be flooded. Slow moving or standing water may continue.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 833 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges

    indicated heavy rain due to earlier thunderstorms. Although

    rainfall rates have decreased significantly, flooding is

    likely to continue for at least the next several hours. Radar

    estimates indicate up to 6 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Sandwich, Mendota, Amboy, Sheridan, Shabbona, Lake Holiday,

    Hinckley, Somonauk, Earlville, Waterman, Serena, Leland, Paw

    Paw, Sublette, Woodhaven Lakes, Millington, Lee, Compton,

    Troy Grove and West Brooklyn.

occurring. Persons along rivers, creeks, and other waterways should
