...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and 

increased in duration for the following rivers in Kentucky...



  Kentucky River at Ford Lock affecting Madison and Clark Counties.



.Heavy rain from the past several days will cause the river to rise.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 

cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 

  forecast.



* WHERE...Kentucky River at Ford Lock.



* WHEN...Until late Thursday morning.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1:30 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 34.1 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 26.0 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 1:30 AM EDT Sunday was 34.1 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 35.3

    feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage

    early Thursday morning.

  - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    33.5 feet on 05/10/1984.
