...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TUESDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by previous excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...Portions of south central, southeast, and southwest 

  Indiana, including the following counties, in south central 

  Indiana, Jackson and Lawrence. In southeast Indiana, Jennings. In 

  southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin and Sullivan.



* WHEN...Until noon EDT Tuesday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads 

  remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to 

  excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Local media have reported 

  water rescues.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1112 AM EDT, Flooding is already occurring in the warned

    area.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is

    expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Vincennes, Seymour, Bedford, Washington, North Vernon,

    Linton, Sullivan, Brownstown, Bloomfield, Shoals, Vernon,

    Mitchell, Bicknell, Loogootee, Jasonville, Crothersville,

    Worthington, Odon, Shelburn and Oolitic.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where 

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become 

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or 

creeks.
