...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT SUNDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and west central 

  Indiana, including the following counties, in central Indiana, 

  Boone, Hamilton, Madison and Tipton. In east central Indiana, 

  Delaware, Henry and Randolph. In west central Indiana, Montgomery.



* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 856 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned

    area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are possible in

    the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Muncie, Anderson, Crawfordsville, Carmel, Fishers,

    Noblesville, New Castle, Lebanon, Zionsville, Elwood,

    Alexandria, Tipton, Winchester, Windfall, Westfield,

    Yorktown, Cicero, Pendleton, Fortville and Union City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
