...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.



* WHERE...Northeastern Roane County in central West Virginia...

  Northern Calhoun County in north central West Virginia...

  Central Gilmer County in north central West Virginia...

  Southern Ritchie County in northwestern West Virginia...

  Southeastern Wirt County in northwestern West Virginia...



* WHEN...Until 1215 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 815 AM EDT, Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen

    overnight which has resulted in flooding of some creeks.

    Emergency management reported flooding of some county roads this

    morning.

  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is

    expected.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Glenville, Grantsville, Cedar Creek State Park, Sand Fork, Big

    Springs, Burnt House, Tanner, Smithville, Newberne, Mount Zion,

    Brohard, Normantown, Munday, Macfarlan and Annamoriah.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
