...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM HST THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE 

ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.



* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.



* WHEN...Until 100 PM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 946 AM HST, radar indicated heavy showers moving over West

    Maui, with rain falling at rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.

    While the rainfall is currently concentrated over West Maui,

    additional heavy showers are expected to spread to southern

    and central Maui through midday.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Maalaea, Puunene, Keokea, Wailea,

    Kula, Waikapu, Pukalani, Wailuku, Ulupalakua, Waiehu, Makena,

    Waihee, Olowalu, Kahakuloa, Kaanapali, Honokohau and Napili-

    Honokowai.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.



A Flood Watch is also in effect for all Hawaiian Islands until 6 pm 

HST Sunday.

persists.
