...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 AM HST SATURDAY FOR THE 

ISLAND OF MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.



* WHERE...The island of Molokai in Maui County.



* WHEN...Until 1245 AM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 932 PM HST, radar indicated scattered heavy rain showers

    over Molokai. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per

    hour under the heavier showers. Additional bands of heavy

    rain is expected over the next several hours.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Kaunakakai, Kualapuu, Hoolehua, Kalaupapa National Park,

    Kawela, Kamalo, Maunaloa, Ualapue, Kepuhi, Pukoo, Halawa

    Valley and Molokai Airport.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.



Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on 

foot. Turn around, don't drown.



A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui County until Sunday 6 PM 

HST.

persists.
