...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM HST THIS EVENING 

FOR THE ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.



* WHEN...Until 730 PM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 549 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain has briefly

    decreased over Maui. Additional bands of moderate to locally

    heavy rain is expected to move in from the south over the

    next hour.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Kula, Pukalani, Makawao, Keokea,

    Haliimaile, Paia, Puunene, Haiku-Pauwela, Wailea, Pauwela,

    Maalaea, Ulupalakua, Huelo, Makena, Waikapu, Wailuku and

    Waiehu.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.



A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui until Sunday 6PM HST.

persists.
