...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM HST THIS AFTERNOON FOR 

THE ISLAND OF MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...The island of Molokai in Maui County.



* WHEN...Until 530 PM HST.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 

  streams. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 226 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain moving over the

    island of Molokai from the southwest. Rain was falling at a

    rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. The most likely locations for

    flooding impacts continue to be along Kamehameha V Highway

    between Kaunakakai and Pukoo, with road closures likely.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Kaunakakai, Kualapuu, Hoolehua, Kalaupapa National Park,

    Kawela, Kamalo, Maunaloa, Ualapue, Kepuhi, Pukoo, Halawa

    Valley and Molokai Airport.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 

to flooding.

persists.
