The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a



* Tornado Warning for...

  Southeastern Mitchell County in southwestern Georgia...

  Northwestern Thomas County in south central Georgia...

  Southwestern Colquitt County in south central Georgia...



* Until 1145 AM EDT.



* At 1115 AM EDT, a tornado producing storm was located near

  Ochlocknee, or 8 miles southeast of Pelham, moving northeast at 35

  mph.



  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.



  SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.



  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 

           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 

           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 

           damage is likely.



* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of

  southeastern Mitchell, northwestern Thomas and southwestern

  Colquitt Counties, including the following locations... Funston,

  Center Hill, Murphy, Moultrie Municipal A/P, Quality, and Chastain.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a

basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy

building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in

a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect

yourself from flying debris.
