NZUS99 KBOU 051515 OPUDEN Developmental Probabilistic Snow Accumulation Forecast (DIA) National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, Colorado 0915 MDT Tuesday, May 05, 2026 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This developmental product contains the probabilities (%) that the given snow amounts (inches) will occur at Denver International Airport during the respective 3 hour or 12 hour periods. The probabilities indicate the amount of snow that is expected to accumulate on runways and other concrete surfaces at DIA. [T (trace) means more than zero.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discussion (05/12-06/12 MDT): Rain, mixed with snow at times, will continue off and on today. Precipitation intensity is expected to increase by late this afternoon and evening, with the rain/snow mix changing to all snow. It's difficult to specifically time this changeover, but we think by 6-8 pm it should be all snow. The snow will then continue through Wednesday morning, before ending Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will hover in the mid to upper 30s most of today, and then sink to 32F or slightly colder as precipitation becomes all snow. Snowfall is not expected to accumulate on the paved surfaces until late this evening, with the most likely scenario of seeing an inch or so of slush on paved surfaces by Wednesday morning. Peak snowfall rates are expected to reach 1 inch per hour at times after midnight tonight to mid morning Wednesday. No snow accumulation is expected on the pavement after 11 am Wednesday as snow intensity decreases and temperatures increase slightly. This will be a heavy, wet snow with high liquid water content. Higher accumulations as possible on non-paved surfaces where 3 to 7 inches are possible with this storm. 0" T or 1" or 3" or 10" or Day/Hour MDT more more more more -------------------------------------------------- 05/12-05/15 | 100 0 0 0 05/15-05/18 | 95 5 0 0 05/18-05/21 | 65 35 5 0 05/21-06/00 | 15 85 15 0 05/12-06/00 | 0 06/00-06/03 | 15 85 40 0 06/03-06/06 | 10 90 50 0 06/06-06/09 | 0 100 50 0 06/09-06/12 | 20 80 15 0 06/00-06/12 | 0 0" T or 1" or 3" or 10" or Day/Hour MDT more more more more -------------------------------------------------- 06/12-06/15 | 85 15 0 0 06/15-06/18 | 95 5 0 0 06/18-06/21 | 100 0 0 0 06/21-07/00 | 100 0 0 0 06/12-07/00 | 0 07/00-07/03 | 100 0 0 0 07/03-07/06 | 100 0 0 0 07/06-07/09 | 100 0 0 0 07/09-07/12 | 100 0 0 0 07/00-07/12 | 0
