...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...



In 1997, a 2-day blizzard invaded Colorado with

accumulations ranging from around 15 inches to around 4

feet and drifts as high as 15 FEET.  At the former Denver

Stapleton Airport, nearly one foot of snow was measured

on the 24th, with an additional 10 inches measured on the

25th.  The blizzard forced the closure of Denver

International Airport, which stranded around 4,000

people.
