...FROST-FREEZE PROGRAM HAS ENDED THIS FALL FOR GRAHAM, SWAIN,

HAYWOOD, MADISON, YANCEY, MITCHELL AND AVERY COUNTIES UNTIL NEXT 

SPRING...



Temperatures fell below 32 degrees this morning across Graham,

Swain, Haywood, Madison, Yancey, Mitchell and Avery Counties. The

freezing temperatures effectively ended the growing season across

these zones. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories will no longer 

be issued for these zones until the growing season begins again in

Spring 2026.



However, temperatures did not fall below freezing Wednesday 

morning across the remainder of the forecast area. Freeze 

warnings and Frost Advisories will still be issued for these areas

whenever widespread temperatures below freezing are forecast, or 

until the morning of November 2nd for the mountains and November

12th outside the mountains, whichever occurs first.
